cube: skin and frame
DATE: Spring 07
DESCRIPTION: I designed a 16X16X16” cube in vectorworks around the idea of “skin and frame.” My restrictions were to build it using only 2X4’s, 5/8” gypsum board, ½” or ¾” plywood, tape, drywall mud, corner bead, and mechanical fasteners. The gypsum board and plywood must cover 5 of the sides of the cube (no more, no less.) Each of the two ‘skin’ materials must cover a minimum of one side.
